Mañana lunes 25 sale a la venta en castellano el nuevo álbum ! Para celebrarlo, aquí va una ración de storyboard de las primeras páginas del libro. :)

Sketchtravel ...at last!!

A week ago I was in Paris on a special meeting for the Sketchtravel book:

Gerald Guerlais, one of the heads starting the project;

Marc Aguesse, the man behind the matrix Catsuka;

Aurelien Predal and Mailys, the young talented artists who bring me the book;

Ben Fiquet, another all-terrain artist ,and my friend Victor Maldonado, one of the creators/directors of the Nocturna movie, also playing the role of camera man for the event. ;)

I wouldn´t like to enter in many details, but if the event was great to meet all this people, the chance of having the book in my hands was something out of this world. It´s really impressive to see the original art of all the people involved on it, and you can bet the responsability of beign the next one to do his part gives your hand a burning shake. Unfortunately I couldn´t work on the best conditions (nearly 8 in the morning, hotel room, after 10 hours of a stomach disease ...) , but it was a pleasure to do it anyway.

All my best luck fort the next artist, the amazing Juanjo Guarnido!

(and if I could tell you who will be on the next pages you wouldn´t believe me! Plenty of big names ...)

A glorious copy of the book arrived today on the mail. A beautiful gift for those who had the chance of take part on that great event. And hope you all can enjoy it soon, as the rumors say that some important editors are showing interest on it. :)

Totoro Forest Project ( updated: BLOG! )

Again thanks to Guerald Guerlais and Dice Tsutsumi, I´m involved in something great: an art auction to help saving a forest. The forest that inspired Mr. Hayao Miyazaki to make his masterpiece "My Neighbour Totoro": the Sayama Forest !!

Pages 4 ,5 & 6 of the new book. The rest of the 54 are also finsihed and I´ve recently started the coloring stage.

These pages lack some FX´s , so just for you to get into the mood, add some rain, some trees waving by the wind and some misty lights at this night scene. Yep, it looks better!! :D

Me he quedado de piedra al recibir mail de mi amiga Susana (seguid el link a su magnífico blog) : en las fallas de Valencia de este año hay una version libre de algunos diseños del comic "El Mago de Oz"!! Pero mejor que os lo cuente ella, que para eso se lo ha currado muchísimo , como siempre. Un abrazo enorme, Susana!! :)
