4th International Manga Award !!!

Now is official and I can talk about it : "L´ile sans sourire", "La isla sin sonrisa", my last book, won a silver medal on the International Manga Award !! Yeaaaah !!!

Some folks here at Barcelona have join forces to have fun and make of our wednesday meetings (best known as "freak lunch") something more than just a reunion of profesional colleagues. This is the result: a nice book plenty of stories based on the city where we all live and work, Barcelona. Release December 10th. (cover art: Enrique Corominas)

I´m reaching the half of the first book of "Cobra". Unfortunately (due to my own schedule fault) we´ll have to wait to 2013 for the release of the two books. Be patient, please!!! :)

Two books

This year I´m working on two comic books at the same time (yes, I like the general concept of PAIN). These two are graphic researchs to develop the two projects. To make it easy lets call them "Cobra" (Drugstore) and "Aurore"(Collection Metamorphose, Soleil).

Recently I´ve been doing some designs for the talented people at "Tale of War" miniatures. And I hope to keep doing it for a long time! It´s a fun and challenging work, and it´s impressive to see the level of detail they can reach sculpting those little pieces of art.

ARTBOX WIP, great idea!!

The guys at Artbox , the most important art forum related to animation,ilustration, comics,etc. in Spain, have developed a new site where you can see the work in progress of the pages of many artists as Man Arenas, Robledo&Toledano and Olijosman. A must see!!

Inking...without ink :)

Too much time without posting new stuff...:(

Here´s a page entirely penciled, inked and colored on Cintiq (the lovely 12" one) and my good friend Painter X. You should try the "liquid inks" if you haven´t already!

The page is the first of four of a story for a collective artist´s book in France. I´ll tell more about it in the future. :)

Sketchtravel ...at last!!

A week ago I was in Paris on a special meeting for the Sketchtravel book:

Gerald Guerlais, one of the heads starting the project;

Marc Aguesse, the man behind the matrix Catsuka;

Aurelien Predal and Mailys, the young talented artists who bring me the book;

Ben Fiquet, another all-terrain artist ,and my friend Victor Maldonado, one of the creators/directors of the Nocturna movie, also playing the role of camera man for the event. ;)

I wouldn´t like to enter in many details, but if the event was great to meet all this people, the chance of having the book in my hands was something out of this world. It´s really impressive to see the original art of all the people involved on it, and you can bet the responsability of beign the next one to do his part gives your hand a burning shake. Unfortunately I couldn´t work on the best conditions (nearly 8 in the morning, hotel room, after 10 hours of a stomach disease ...) , but it was a pleasure to do it anyway.

All my best luck fort the next artist, the amazing Juanjo Guarnido!

(and if I could tell you who will be on the next pages you wouldn´t believe me! Plenty of big names ...)
